André Pires out of the Portimão Stage of the National Speed Championship 2020

André Pires, currently ranked third in the Superbike points table, driver of the Motor7/Yamaha Racing team, does not meet the necessary conditions to participate in the Portimão day of the National Speed Championship 2020, due to the failure of some sponsorships due to the current situation.

However, he is already preparing to participate in the Macau Grand Prix. Its absence in the national speed grid is due to the current pandemic phase, which has made it impossible to gather the necessary support for its participation.

On the other hand, his presence at the Macau Grand Prix is once again assured, with the 67th edition of the prestigious race, for now, confirmed. All attention is now focused on preparing the bike for the Portuguese rider, who is scheduled to board in two months.

Again at the controls of his Yamaha R1, Pires will do everything to evolve his best performance, in a renewed Guia Circuit that has undergone several works of resurfacing along its winding route. The race is scheduled for the 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd of November.

“Much to my regret, I am forced to pause my aspirations for the CNV Moto 2020 and I will no longer be in Portimão. Mainly due to the lack of the necessary budget to cover the expenses of my participation. This pandemic has not helped and is being impossible gather the necessary funds.

On the other hand, I am already preparing for my participation in the Macau Grand Prix. We are finishing preparing the bike and I am intensifying my physical training. I want to thank the sponsors who made this huge effort to support us. I also understand your difficulties in obtaining those same supports, given the reality we live in. We did a good job and it’s a shame not to continue on CNV Moto.”
