Composer and music therapist André Viamonte, who recently released the song “Agora é Hora” in collaboration with Mimicat, is preparing the second single, “Devolve-me o Amanhã”, with the participation of Ana Bacalhau, which will be released on 17/01/2025, Saint Anthony’s Day or Animal Protector’s Day.
This date was chosen because it celebrates the tireless efforts of those who dedicate their lives to the well-being and rights of animals.
Part of the proceeds from this single will go to IRA – Animal Intervention and Rescue, in recognition of the essential work this organization does in rescuing animals that are victims of abuse and neglect. This initiative reinforces André ViaMonte’s strong social commitment to urgent and relevant causes.
“Devolve-me o Amanhã” is a tribute to the connections that shape us and bring out the best in us. Inspired by symbols of Ana Bacalhau and André ViaMonte’s childhood, such as the singer’s first cat and the composer’s first dog, the song pays homage to the four-legged friends who transform our lives with their unconditional love. The collaboration between Nicolae Negură, responsible for the illustrations, and Nuno Henriques, in graphic design, visually translates this message, expanding the emotional narrative of the song.
The song celebrates the unique strength of this connection and reminds us of the importance of protecting and valuing these beings who, with their presence, rescue and transform us. It is an invitation to live the present with gratitude, aware of the eternity of the love they leave with us, even when their presence is brief.
André ViaMonte sets the tone: “Derogatory comments like ‘Oh, and so on, they’re in favour of little animals’ only reflect the lack of awareness about the fact that animals, whether pets or wild, are sentient beings, capable of feeling pain, joy and love, and deserve to live with dignity and respect. Protecting and caring for them is an ethical duty that reflects the values of compassion and empathy fundamental to a healthy and balanced society. Furthermore, by educating future generations about respect and responsibility towards animals, we promote a more just, conscious and supportive society, which values life in all its forms.”
The single will be available on all platforms from January 17th, giving us a glimpse of the character and atmosphere that define De Vez, André ViaMonte’s new album, scheduled for release in May 2025. This record, entirely in Portuguese, will be composed exclusively of duets and will feature special appearances by Mimicat, Ana Bacalhau, Paulo Ribeiro, Mari Segura, Pedro do Vale, Janeiro and Matu Miranda. Production is handled by Francesco Meoli, one of the greatest talents on the contemporary music scene.
