“Aguarda-me” is the song by André ViaMonte & Paulo Ribeiro that will be available on all platforms from April 18th. This theme will be part of the long-awaited album De Vez, scheduled for release in May 2025.
This album, entirely in Portuguese, will be composed exclusively of duets and will feature special appearances by Mimicat, Ana Bacalhau, Paulo Ribeiro, Mari Segura, Pedro do Vale, Janeiro and Matu Miranda. Production is handled by Francesco Meoli, one of the greatest talents on the contemporary music scene.
“You don’t lose someone… you gain someone in your story, which is so fleeting. In this ephemerality of time, we realize that we are made of small pieces of the stories of those who have left,” shares André ViaMonte.
“Aguarda-me”, the fifth single from the album De Vez, by André ViaMonte, in collaboration with Paulo Ribeiro, is a poetic tribute to memory and the roots that unite us. The song emerges as an invitation to reconnect with family and cultural stories, celebrating the strength of working the land, the resilience of those who cultivate it and the richness of traditions that span generations.
This theme arises from the encounter between childhood memories of Trás-os-Montes, by ViaMonte, and Alentejo by Paulo Ribeiro, uniting geographies and experiences in the same emotional root. Through the symbols that marked their childhoods – the cuckoo bird, which transports ViaMonte to moments with his grandfather, and the bread crumb, which evokes memories of his grandmother in Paulo Ribeiro – the song becomes a celebration of the connection between generations. The collaboration between Nicolae Negură, responsible for the illustrations, and Nuno Henriques, in graphic design, visually translates this message, expanding the emotional narrative of the song.
More than a tribute to memory and longing, “Aguarda-me” is also a tribute to the hard work of the land, the resilient spirit of those who work it and the richness of its traditions. The intensity of the theme reaches its peak with the participation of the Coro Alentejano de Pias, which conveys the ancestral strength of Cante Alentejano, giving it even more depth and emotion.
Part of the proceeds from the song will go to the Coração Amarelo Association, as a tribute to all those who, with their willpower, help to raise awareness and make the world a more sensitive and humane place. Just as music reminds us of the importance of preserving the stories of those we love, the Association is dedicated to supporting older people, especially those living in loneliness and isolation. This connection reinforces the message that even when memories fade, love and shared experiences endure.
