“At a time when controversy and lack of character often trump integrity, and when “digital influences” transform the superficial and grotesque into currency for fame, we are left with artists. They are the ones who, in an often apathetic world, manage to transform pain and movement into healing and rebirth.” – André ViaMonte.
“Deixa em Paz”, the fourth single from the album De Vez, by André ViaMonte, in collaboration with Pedro do Vale, is a poetic manifesto against the emotional anaesthesia of contemporary society. The song emerges as an invitation to reflection, a return to the human essence, challenging the listener to recover authenticity and sensitivity in an increasingly insensitive world.
Through music, artists rescue symbols of childhood – André ViaMonte’s dolphins and Pedro do Vale’s seahorses – evoking memories of a time when life was purer and more authentic. These elements, loaded with meaning, remind us of the importance of feeling, being present and valuing what matters. The collaboration between Nicolae Negură, responsible for the illustrations, and Nuno Henriques, in graphic design, visually translates this message, expanding the emotional narrative of the song.
Part of the proceeds from the song will go to the Casa do Artista Association, as a tribute to all those who, with their art, helped to raise awareness and make the world a more sensitive and humane place.
