Bill Frisell, Anat Cohen, Trineice Robinson, Vincent Meissner, and Jeffery Davis are some of the names on the 22nd edition of AngraJazz, which takes place on October 1st, 2nd, and 4th, at the Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo.
With a budget of 110 thousand euros, the festival kicks off today with the Angrajazz orchestra, composed of local musicians, which presents a concert celebrating the 130th anniversary of the birth of Cole Porter, with arrangements by Zé Eduardo, followed by if the performance of the trio of German pianist Vincent Meissner.
The second day of the festival opens with the Portuguese quintet of Jeffery Davis, vibraphonist born in Canada, who moved to Portugal at the age of 4, still performing in the quartet of saxophonist Don Braden, accompanied by singer Trineice Robinson, from the United States.
The last night will also be marked by American jazz, first, with the trio of guitarist Bill Frisell, and then with the decadent of clarinetist Anat Cohen.
