With an unmistakable voice, the Portuguese singer who has represented Portuguese music across borders, António Azambujo, is the new confirmation for MEO Marés Vivas.
Take the MEO stage on the 21st of July with your musicians and your guitar to give an unmissable concert. António Zambujo released his first album O mesmo Fado in 2002 and continued to explore and mix different musical styles in his following works.
With influence from fado, jazz and Brazilian popular music, his talent and unique style led to the rise of his national and international career. He was twice nominated for a Latin Grammy, the first in 2016 with the tribute album to Chico Buarque and later in 2019 with his song “Sem Palavras”. He became a mentor on the RTP1 program “The Voice Portugal” in 2020 and remained there for 3 editions.
Zambujo’s best-known songs are “Voz e Violão” – which went directly to the top of the national Top Sales chart, “Pica do 7”, “Lambreta” and “Zorro” – which join a collection of the singer’s originals.
In 2023, he released his tenth album – Cidade – entirely composed by Miguel Araújo.
