October 2021 marked the return of António Garcez – A Lenda Viva do Rock, with the album “Vinde Ver Isto”. A little after a year, “I’m Alive” arrives, the CD recorded at the concert that António Garcez held last year at the Hard Club in Porto, and which will be released on January 20, 2023.
“The idea of putting on a live album with two concerts in Lisbon and Porto is the result of work that, after being molded in the studio, would not be complete without us putting into practice the expression and strength that characterizes this album, in front of an audience that has followed me from near and far over the last many, I don’t know how many years.
It was not easy to carry out these shows due to the fact that the difficult period we were going through was dominated by the fear and spread of Covid-19. In this rock’n’roll scene, we don’t bend easily, hence, we have taken the water to our mill and given a good idea of how our concerts will be, the concerts that we want to present with all the energy and motivation, and where there will be some improvisation and themes known to the general public, hoping to do them more frequently and without masks.
That’s my will and that of the band that accompanies me because, in addition to the fact that without concerts the album will be nothing more than a rose in an empty vase, there is also another relevant factor: playing in Portugal is super rewarding for being able to be with my usual fans, the new ones who challenge me, those who only know me by name and the strangers to whom I want to make my music known.
Family, friends and their friends, the Sun, the Sea, the panoramic beauty in parallel with the friendliness of the people and the good cuisine of my country, make me feel like I’m in a Portuguese house with four whitewashed walls and a smell of rosemary. Everything you need to feel and be able to say “I’m Alive”!”
