António Mega Ferreira is awarded the Roma-Lisbon Prize

The handover ceremony, at the Italian embassy, in Lisbon, is part of the program commemorating the 700th anniversary of the death of poet Dante Alighieri and will take place next Friday at 18:30.

The Roma Literary Prize was created in 2000, and aims to promote Italy’s image, culture, and values. The award distinguishes authors of all nationalities, but with works published in Italian and selected by a jury composed of personalities from the cultural, academic, and journalistic panorama.

Last year, due to the limitations imposed by the pandemic emergency, the awarding of the prize was postponed until this year.

Mega Ferreira is the author of a vast work, which includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and chronicle. Writer, journalist and cultural manager, he directed the Centro Cultural de Belém and the Associação Música Educação e Cultura (AMEC), which oversees the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra.
