Antonio Zambujo was the artist challenged to start this week of the concert series “Serões no Casino Estoril”
Casino Estoril reopens the Auditorium and the panoramic Foyer of the Salão Preto e Prata to welcome, exclusively in live stream, an original cycle of concerts and stand-up comedy shows. Artfeist Produções Artísticas is the promoter of this program called “Serões no Casino Estoril”, which takes place between the 9th and 31st of August. This is a timely initiative that aims to boost national culture, taking into account the complex current situation, originated by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.
Yesterday, Thursday, another week of concerts started at Casino Estoril and the guest artist was António Zambujo.
António Zambujo was born in Beja, and is a Portuguese musician who has been familiar with Alentejo music since he was a boy and is currently a well-known singer nationally and internationally with 8 studio albums.
On the 9th of June 2015, he was awarded as Commander of the Order of the Infante D. Henrique, his album “Até Pensei Que Fosse Minha” was nominated for the Latin Grammy in 2017 for Best Brazilian Popular Music Album and in 2019 he became a mentor on the RTP1 program “The Voice Portugal”
The acoustic concert that is part of the cycle “Serões no Casino Estoril” at Casino Estoril started as usual at 10 pm, in Livestream, to the sound of “Apelo“.
The artist of few words did what he can do best, sing, and delighted everyone at home. “Se Já Não Me Queres” was heard in the Casino Auditorium and then we heard “Valsa de um pavão ciumento”, “Flintstones” and “Multimilionário”, a great success from his last album.
We also heard “Zorro”, “A Rosinha Dos Limões”, “Nem Às Paredes Confesso” original by fado singer Amália Rodrigues, followed by “Eu Ia Pela Rua”, “Amapola”, “Madera de Deriva” song written by Jorge Drexler,“Flagrante” and “Algo Estranho Acontece”.
“Thank you for everything, thank you for your warmth at home, thank you for your friendship” said the artist, thanking everyone at home and Artfeist for the invitation to participate in the “Serões no Casino”.
The beautiful concert ended with one of his greatest hits “Pica Do 7” from the 2014 album “Rua da Amendment“.
The Livestream concerts“Serões no Casino Estoril” at Casino Estoril continue until the end of August and today is Catarina Clau, Vânia Blu and Nuno Martins’ turn to perform; next we have Simone de Oliveira with Nuno and Henrique Feist on the 22nd; and Casa de Fados “O Faia” closing the week on Sunday.
Monday, August 24, Rui Xará will perform a stand-up comedy; on the 27th Susana Félix performs; day 28 is FF‘s turn; Starting the weekend we have Lúcia Moniz, Mariana Pacheco and Diogo Leite on the 29th; and “A História do Fado” with Henrique Feist, Valter Mira and Marta Alves on Sunday 30th.
