Apocalyptica sells out concert in Lisbon

Tomorrow, November 17, at LAV - Lisboa ao Vivo

The group will present the new album “Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2,” which features appearances by James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo.

APOCALYPTICA returns to the Portuguese capital to present their latest album, Plays Metallica Vol. 2, which is already available in physical and digital formats. Fellow Finns ARCTIS will be special guests for the night.

The album Plays Metallica Vol. 2 includes collaborations from Metallica members James Hetfield, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, and Robert Trujillo, bassist of the heavy metal giants. The recording returns to the theme launched in the 90s, continuing the journey that began in 1996 with the album Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, when cellists from the world-famous Sibelius Academy in Helsinki paid a symphonic tribute to Metallica; the classically-minded dynamos are returning to their roots to complete a legendary story.

The band’s founding leader, Eicca Toppinen, comments: “It’s amazing to think that, after all these years, our tribute to Metallica still speaks so strongly to people. Sharing our love for Metallica’s music with the audience live is an magical experience. This time the show is going to be on another level, and we can’t wait to go back there and share the fun with our fans!”
