The documentary “No Silêncio dos Moinhos” about Jancido’s mills in Gondomar was presented

The Natural History documentary “No Silêncio dos Moinhos“, about the Moinhos de Jancido, was presented on Saturday, August 28, at the place that inspired the work signed by Gondomarense filmmaker Paulo Ferreira.

The entire documentary was filmed in a small stretch of the Sousa River valley, near Moinhos de Jancido and the images presented are the culmination of two years of recording in the field.

Lasting about 35 minutes, small stories of natural life are narrated in it, which can be seen by those who pass by in silence. They are birds such as the Heron, Kingfisher, the Round-winged Eagle, the Great Spotted Woodpecker or the Red-throated Robin, some typical plants of the region and even animals such as the Bat, the Yellow-spotted Salamander, the Lusitanian Salamander, the Red Squirrel or the Fireflies, who star in the work.

For Paulo Ferreira, “two years have passed and the time is approaching to make known the most recent natural history documentary.” The voiceover was in charge of Eduardo Rêgo and the soundtrack is by Miguel Berkemeier, who was present at the presentation to a restricted audience. The documentary’s promotional materials are illustrations by Marisa Silva.

This project, which has the support of the Municipality of Gondomar, will soon be on display for the general public.
