The climatic chambers of Aralab, the only Portuguese producer, have been an aid element in the process of Certification and Quality Control of facial masks, for protection against Covid-19.
After a few hours inside Aralab equipment, which can simulate any environment, facial masks are the target of tests to prevent the transmission of droplets.
Through this procedure, it is possible to validate the protection capacity of the social masks of each manufacturer and whether they should receive certification for breathability and safety.
“In addition to social distance, the new normal requires the use of facial masks, attested as to their effectiveness in preventing the transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19, but also as to their breathability. In this certification process, Aralab’s climatic chambers appear as an essential resource, as they allow to simulate the atmospheric conditions of use and storage. During the certification process, facial masks are subjected to a series of tests, in order to assess their ability to prevent the passage of droplets that may carry the virus ”, says Luís Branco, administrator of Aralab.
