Arcade Fire, one of the bands most loved by the Portuguese public, is the new confirmation for July 11th, on the NOS Stage, joining those already confirmed for this day The Smashing Pumpkins, Benjamin Clementine, Black Pumas, Nothing But Thieves and Kenya Grace.

Hailing from Montreal, Canada in the early 2000s, Arcade Fire quickly earned a reputation for transcendent live shows that brought arena-sized ambition to stages of all sizes. By the end of the tour in support of their 2004 debut album, Funeral — widely acclaimed as one of the best and most important albums of the 2000s — Arcade Fire’s live experience was already raising thousands of voices in unison at each show, while the band found itself sharing stages with artists such as U2 and David Bowie.
Titled in honour of the memories of family members, the cathartic confrontation of tragedy, and the band members’ life-affirming celebration of life, love, hope, and Haitian roots, Funeral has only grown in stature over the years. The album was named #1 of the 2000s by Rolling Stone and topped Best of the Decade lists worldwide, including NME, Q, Pitchfork, The Guardian, Mojo, Spin, Consequence, and Paste among others. The group’s subsequent albums, Neon Bible, The Suburbs, Reflektor and Everything Now, have earned the band three worldwide #1s, nine GRAMMY nominations (including a 2011 win for Album of the Year for The Suburbs), four Juno Awards (including three for Album of the Year), a BRIT Award for Best International Album, as well as an OSCARS® nomination for the original soundtrack for the film HER.
WE (2022), Arcade Fire’s sixth album, is a 40-minute epic that now arrives on the NOS Stage of the 16th edition of NOS Alive, on July 11, 2024.
