“Ascensão da Água” by Samuel F. Pimenta, who won the Almada Literary Prize arrives to bookstores on October

The jury was composed by the writer José Manuel Mendes, president of the Portuguese Writers Association, the university professor Manuel Frias Martins, representing the Portuguese Association of Literary Critics, and the poet Joaquim Pessoa.

Previously, Samuel F. Pimenta published the novel “Iluminações de Uma Mulher Livre” (2017), written within the scope of a Young Creators Scholarship, from the National Culture Center.

In 2016, with the book “Ágora“, he won the 4th Glória de Sant’Anna Literary Prize, which distinguishes the best poetry book in Portuguese.

The Numbers That Won the Names” (2015), “Geo Metria” (2014), “O Relógio” (2013), “O Escolhido” (2009) are other titles by Samuel Pimenta, published under the seal Marcador, Livros de Yesterday and Planeta Editora.

With activism in the promotion of LGBTI+, human and Earth rights, Samuel Pimenta is also dedicated to the study of spirituality.

Ascensão da Água” is scheduled to be presented on October 1st, at the Palácio Galveias Library, in Lisbon, at 6:30 pm, with a presentation by journalist and writer Fernando Dacosta.
