Automation of the Social Energy Tariff wins United Nations public service award

The AMA project was distinguished in the category “Providing inclusive and equitable services”. Developed in 2016, ATSE facilitates the process of adhering to the social tariff for electricity and natural gas through an automatic recognition mechanism

The Automation of the Social Energy Tariff (ATSE), a project of the Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA), is one of the winners of the 2020 edition of the United Nations Public Service Award, the UN award that distinguishes the best practices of management entities that aim at progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Through the service, the Government can verify who is eligible to ensure that all low-income families receive the financial support they need.

According to a study carried out by the Energy Observatory, ATSE has increased the number of beneficiary families, a figure that now stands at around 20%.

The first initiative, which allows the sharing of good practices in administrative modernization, innovation and simplification, won the first prize in the category “Fostering knowledge management in public administration”.

The initiatives Diz.Simplex, Public Consultation and Ideia Simplex led the program to be awarded the 2nd prize in the category “Promote participation in the definition of public policies through innovative mechanisms”.
