Bairro das Artes returns to Lisbon for the 10th and last edition
The tenth and last edition of Bairro das Artes will take place in 35 contemporary art spaces in Lisbon, with 41 events, such as exhibitions, conversations and performances.
The events will take place in galleries, museums, bookstores and other places linked to contemporary art with including 18 inaugurations this year.
Directed by Ana Matos and Claudio Garrudo, Bairro das Artes will also bring, free access, conversations with the artists of the program, several guided tours, artistic demonstrations in the streets, and an art book fair.
This year’s programming is very eclectic and cross-cutting in the field of visual arts, with painting, photography, installation, drawing, printmaking, jewelery and architecture.
For the first time, the organization asked three curators of the contemporary art world to share their choices within the 2019 Bairro das Artes program: Bárbara Coutinho, director of the Design and Fashion Museum, Inês Grosso, curator of the Architecture Art Museum and Technology, and Sérgio Fazenda Rodrigues, independent curator.
