Catarina Branco, choreographer/dancer residing in Porto, will start the second edition of her choreographic project “reCoVered2020” to be held in four Portuguese cities: Barcelos, Porto, Lisbon and Beja, in the last quarter of 2021.
In this second edition, Catarina Branco invites Sérgio Noé Quintela to together embrace four creative residencies open to local communities in the four Portuguese cities, where everyone will have an active voice. The creative residencies will result in a show premiering on November 28 at Casa das Artes do Porto.
The in-person auditions, in Barcelos, will take place on September 30th, at Theatro Gil Vicente, and registration runs until September 20th. The project is aimed at dancers from Barcelos, Porto, Lisbon or Beja, with knowledge in release technique, floorwork & partnering, with the will and sensitivity to work with people of all and any social context, gender, age group, because it is a inclusive project, open to the local community (in each city) and still available to work between October 4th and December 10th.
The first edition of the “reCoVered2020” project had as its motto the testimonies of health professionals, particularly psychologists, who were part of the Psychological Support Line of the National Health System. The testimonies, which gained voice in the choreographic creation, resulted in a solo of contemporary dance that had its debut on June 6, 2021 at Casa das Artes do Porto.
