Standing out for its charm and relaxed approach, the all-day cafe Basílio renews its menu with new dishes that mix classic flavours with modern touches, promising to surprise with options for all tastes.
Known as Nicolau’s cool cousin, Basílio is the four-legged character who gives the space its name, recognized for his irreverent personality and adventurous spirit, brings influences from Brazil and highlights the country’s holy grail: coffee. Sought after as the perfect space to enjoy varied options at any time of the day, the all-day café located in the vibrant centre of Lisbon stands out for its relaxed atmosphere and differentiated menu, now with new dishes that enhance this experience.
The renewed menu brings new features ranging from healthy options to the most indulgent, always with a creative signature, as Basílio has accustomed those who frequent the space. Among the starters, Guacamole (R$5) and Cauliflower Tacos (R$7.5) – roasted cauliflower with avocado sauce – are the stars of the new season. Another new addition to the space, although already a favourite in other Nicolau Group spaces, is the Get Dirty Sandwich (€11), a sandwich made up of roast beef, watercress, tomato, caramelized onion and mayonnaise, perfect for those looking for more intense flavours. For fans of classics, the Club Sandwich (R$8) is the perfect option, with sliced bread triangles filled with chicken, cheese, avocado, bacon and lettuce. As for lighter and fresher options, the Favorite Toast (€6.5) combines stracciatella cheese, confit tomato and basil, while the Bagel & Eggs (€7) features a unique mix of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, spinach and grated parmesan, while the Basílio Bagel (€7.2), with cream cheese and smoked salmon, proves to be another irresistible choice.
In the Comfort Bowls, the Zoodles Basílio (€13) stands out, zucchini pasta with avocado pesto, prawns, toasted almonds and parmesan shavings, a tasty option that promises to surprise. Last but not least, designed for lovers of sweeter options, the Summer Pancakes (€7), classic pancakes accompanied by two scoops of ice cream of your choice – with the option of adding whipped cream or hot chocolate – and Basílio Ice Cream (€5.5) consisting of three scoops of ice cream of your choice, they prove to be the perfect end to any meal.
Promising an experience that goes beyond the dish, Basílio asserts itself as the perfect choice for a break in the middle of the day or a meeting with friends or family. Open from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Basílio invites you to discover the latest news, encouraging the “bom vivant” spirit that so well characterizes the character that gives it its name.
