Since 2018 the trio, composed by Ivo Costa, Riot and Quim Albergaria, appeared on the capital’s stages as an adventure to explore the space between the dj set and the percussion.
In the process they found a way for you to make songs. Songs that bring together the multiplicity of identities, keys and dialects that live in the city. Songs that more than sing a truth of yours, hear the crystallization of a plural identity Tuga. Songs for everyone because they have everyone inside.
May 14, 2021 is the day when we will receive “CHEGOU”, BATEU MATOU’s debut album in its most recent form – a trio of percussionists and producers who join voices from the national scene to take us back to sing and dance together. The list of collaborations is diverse and absolutely incendiary: Héber Marques, Papillon, Irma, Pité, Scúru Fitchádu, Toty Sa’med, Favela Lacroix and Blaya.
BATEU MATOU is the meeting of 3 men of rhythm. Ivo Costa, RIOT and Quim Albergaria make songs with the rhythms of Lisbon. The pulses and choruses of the city made of difference, come together in the first record of the trio “Chegou”. A collection of hymns to be sung with the whole body and the first opportunity to do it together will be at the LUX Frágil track on the 28th of May.
