BEMgil MORENOveloso pass through Portugal in April
After selling out the Espinho concert, Moreno Veloso and Bem Gil announce two more dates for the “BEMgil MORENOveloso” tour in Portugal: April 19th in Pombal and April 21st again in Espinho.
These dates join those already announced: Coimbra on the 12th of April, Arcos de Valdevez on the 13th, Lisbon on the 16th and Espinho on the 20th. Except for Pombal and Arcos de Valdevez, tickets for all shows are now available. are for sale.
These concerts are part of a European tour by the two artists, who, in addition to Portugal, will visit Paris, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin and London.
Moreno and Bem have always lived together as a family, they have always lived surrounded by music and the biggest names in Brazilian music. His personal and musical trajectory has crossed and strengthened over the years.
Despite his degree in physics, Moreno always maintained his connection with the musical universe. Singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist – guitar, drums, cello, cymbal, percussions – producer, it is within the scope of the + 2 project with Domenico Lancellotti and Alexandre Kassin that he releases his first album Máquina de Escrever Música (2000). Along with other projects (such as Orquestra Imperial) and collaborations with various artists and musicians, an excellent production work, he released his 2nd album of originals Coisa Boa in 2014. Alongside figures such as Domenico Lancellotti, Kassin and Pedro Sá, His productions influenced and formed a generation of musicians and artists of which Bem is part.
Bem Gil began to perform more steadily with the group TONO, formed with partners Rafael Rocha, Bruno Di Lullo and Ana Cláudia Lomelino (mother). Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, he is also an artistic and musical director.
Regarding the age and importance of the relationship between the two, Bem Gil shared that «I still remember to this day when he (Moreno) went to my house to show his album (which had just been finished) to my father. I was fifteen years old and it was there that I first wanted to make music. I often say that “Music Writing Machine” is my “Chega de Saudade” and that already says a lot».
Bem and Moreno’s work gradually crossed paths and their musical partners became common. Together they produced the albums Gilbertos Samba and Gilbertos Samba Ao Vivo and were responsible for the musical production of the show “Dois Amigos e Um Século de Música”, by their parents Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso.
In 2017, assuming the musical and artistic direction of “REFAVELA 40” – celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of one of Gilberto Gil’s most emblematic albums – Bem invited Moreno to the project and together they shared the stage on the tour of Brazil.
At the beginning of 2019, Moreno and Bem debuted a new show – o seu – in Rio de Janeiro. The success (and fun!) was such that in the breaks of the “Ofertório“ Tour, with which Moreno toured the world with Caetano, Zeca and Tom, and of “OK OK OK“, the show by Gilberto Gil directed by Bem, others dates were set and quickly resumed post-pandemic.
