Benfica and Sporting revalidate indoor track and field titles
Benfica in the men’s division and Sporting in the women’s section were today national champions of track and field clubs, both with a big advantage over the runners-up, precisely the ‘rivals’.
In men, the ‘incarnates’, who had an eight-point advantage over the ‘lions’ on the first day, extended the margin to 12, totaling 100 thanks to victories in five of the six events of the day (they lost only 800 meters) , to add the seventh title in the last eight editions.
In the women’s section, Sporting, who won for the ninth time in a row and 24th in 26 editions, added 99 points, against Benfica’s 85, after winning four of the seven rounds of the second round.
Juventude Vidigalense was third in both men, with 66.5 points, and in women, with 66.
