Benfica beat Spartak Moscow in the third qualifying round of the Champions League (2-0)
Benfica hosted and beat Spartak Moscow (2-0), in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League. The eagles had an advantage of two goals (2-0) from Moscow.
The match was finally decided in the second half. Champion for Sporting, João Mário (58’) started scoring with an eagle to the chest and, towards the end, Gigot (90+3’) placed the ball inside his own goal.
With this result, Benfica sealed the passage to the play-off with an aggregate of 4-0. The eagles face PSV Eindhoven in the final round of accession to the group stage of the millionaire event.
