Benfica beat Tondela in Lisbon (2-1)
Benfica received and beat, this Sunday, Tondela, by 2-1, in a game of the 4th round of the League.
In Luz, Jorge Jesus made seven changes in the starting lineup and the eagles saw Pako Ayestarán’s team take the lead in the 22nd minute, through Salvador Agra, with a crossed shot that beat Vlachodimos.
At the beginning of the second half, Rafa, Gilberto and Weigl went to the game and Benfica managed to touch Tondela “to the ropes”, but the reds managed to reach a draw. On 71′, João Mário’s corner hit, Weigl swerved to the first post and Rafa appeared in the second, firing into the back of the goal. Benfica continued to charge and was awarded the winning goal in the 88th minute. Gilberto took advantage of the incomplete cut of the Beira defense to, with a trivela, beat Niasse again, stamping the very suffered comeback.
With this triumph, Benfica goes on to add 12 points and is isolated in the lead of the Championship. Tondela is 12th and has 3 points.
