Benfica beats Sporting and conquers Handball Super Cup
Incarnated beat the lions by 29-24 and raise the trophy for the sixth time.
Benfica came on the right foot in the 2018/19 season of national handball, beating Sporting 29-24 at Braga Forum and winning the Super Cup.
The winner of the last edition of the Portuguese Cup entered the match very well, and in the ten minutes of play, already wins the national champion by 7-1.
Still, the lions did not lower their arms and managed to reduce the draw to 11-14 at the end of the break. A reaction that, however, was not enough to change the course of events in the second half.
Benfica won the sixth Handball Super Cup in their history, succeeding the Braga ABC, who lifted the trophy in 2017 by defeating Sporting precisely.
