Benfica draws with Arsenal for Europa League (1-1)

Benfica and Arsenal drew, this Thursday, to a ball, in Rome, stage designated as a result of the constraints of the pandemic. The second leg will be played in Athens (Piraeus), on the 25th, also on Thursday.

The Portuguese team started trying to pressure, this time in a scheme with three centrals, but it was Arsenal who dominated and controlled, with Aumabayang missing a great opportunity and Benfica having their first shot of the game only after 32 minutes, by Darwin.

Benfica returned more determined in the second half and ended up benefiting from a penalty, which Pizzi scored in the first goal of the match. An advantage that lasted only two minutes: a cross by Cédric, Arsenal’s Portuguese side, and Saka returned to equalize the match.
