Benfica and Boavista played yesterday in the semi-final of the League Cup, and only in the penalty shoot-out did they prove the winner.
In a match held at Estádio Dr Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria, Benfica won a place in the League Cup final after during regular time the game was tied, 1-1, requiring a penalty shoot-out where Benfica was more efficient.
The goal scorers were Everton in the first half, with Boavista equalizing in the second half by Gustavo Sauer.
The second semi-final is played today between Sporting and Santa Clara.
