Benfica loses with Santa Clara

In a game of great emotions, essentially for the second 45 minutes, Benfica was losing, got the turnaround, but the truth is that he let the three points slip in the final minutes of the match. This was the champion’s fourth loss in title to the I Liga, which may have compromised the revalidation of the last championship won.

Benfica went to the break to lose 0-1 after a goal ‘offered’ by Nuno Tavares to Anderson Carvalho, who didn’t prove to be rogue and put Santa Clara ahead. In the second half, the Eagles came in strong, and in just five minutes they equalized. Rafa had enough leeway to, within the area, overtake an opponent and make it 1-1.

However, Santa Clara showed that he did not go to Luz for a walk and, following a set ball Sanusi put the Azoreans forward again. Benfica was at a disadvantage and that was when the ‘show’ Vinícius started. Benfica’s number 95 started at half-time and got the comeback in two minutes. The Brazilian had the head to change the result and at 64 ‘and 66’, he scored twice with two headers.

At 80 minutes, Rúben Dias throws the ball with his arm and Santa Clara from a penalty comes to a draw. A result that did not interest Benfica, but that was still better than the cold water that happened in the end. Ferro loses the ball in a forbidden zone and, once again, Santa Clara was not pleaded. Zé Manuel shot to count and offered the three points to João Henriques.
