The classic Sporting x Porto was played today, which ended in a draw, in a very disputed and foul game, with 10 yellow cards and one sending-off, it was Benfica who won, increased to 4 points away from their rivals.
This Saturday, the Alvalade stadium hosted the “classic” very “warm” between Sporting and FC Porto, the fifth round match of the Portuguese championship, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Nuno Santos scored for the lions after 16 minutes of play, and the dragons were equalled, in the second half, by Luis Díaz with a fantastic goal.
FC Porto was a little better at the beginning of the game, but little by little Sporting was finding a way to get around the pressure and scored even in the first opportunity they had.
Pedro Porro crossed low into the penalty area, where Nuno Santos deflected it to the back of the blue and white goal in the 16th minute. After the goal, Sporting took the reins of the game, thanks to the interventions of Diogo Costa, that the result did not change.
In addition to the Porto goalkeeper, Nuno Almeida, was another of the protagonists, due to the huge amount of yellow cards he showed, the referee, in the first 4 minutes showed as many cards, at half-time, there were already seven.
Porto returned from half-time better to defend and returned to balance the game, and in the second opportunity of the Dragons, they scored, Luis Díaz received the ball on the left, advanced to the centre and, with a great shot, tied the game.
Opportunities ensued for both sides, until Toni Martínez, just in, who saw two yellow cards in a row in two minutes, Porto found himself playing with ten.
Sporting and FC Porto thus add 11 points, thus remaining 4 points behind Benfica, which leads alone.
