Benfica’s first training session of the year had 22,000 fans

Open training of the incarnated team had 22,000 fans in the stands.

First day of the year and first open training for fans. Benfica had a large phalanx of support on the first day of 2020 – around 22,000 fans were present in Luz – and the images speak for themselves.

Rafa and André Almeida were part of the session, while Jardel, Zivkovic and Jota did not train due to injury.

“Our intention is to start the competition in the best way by 2020, to have a very strong re-entry into games and training as well,” Bruno Lage told BTV.

The first match of the year, counting for the 15th round of the I Liga, is scheduled for next Saturday, against Vitória SC, at the D. Afonso Henriques Stadium.
