Benjamin Clementine confirmed at Ageas Cooljazz 2025
Benjamin Clementine is the first confirmation for Ageas Cooljazz 2025. The British artist will perform at the Manuel Possolo Racecourse in Cascais on July 4th. Singer, composer, self-taught musician and a unique personality in the universe of contemporary music, Benjamin Clementine debuts at Ageas Cooljazz.
If at the age of 16, he went to Paris to reveal himself in the streets of the French capital, the result could only have been the admiration of those who passed by and knew his work. Between a French prosecutor having charmed and a publisher having been conquered, Benjamin’s path has not stopped.
At the beginning of his career, he was mentioned several times by big names like Nina Simone and Antony Hegarty. The album At Least For Now was the founding moment in the studio for a dialogue of piano and voice to become eternal as a milestone in the career of the artist.
Theatrical pop, jazz’s intrinsic roots and a striking voice were taken off in 2017 with the album “I Tell a Fly” which further cemented Benjamin Clementine as a must-have name in world music.
“And I Have Been” (2022) received from the American publication Pitchfork of the best-written descriptions about his work: “Still impossible to classify, his hybrid of classical, chamber pop, baroque and jazz is as exciting as ever, while the recent stripped arrangements increase the intimacy of a clearly seen composer”. The same album received 4 out of 5 stars from the highly reputable The Guardian (UK).
The nominations surround the Mercury Prize for this 35-year-old Briton, who is increasingly undoubtedly a major artist on the world stage.

Ageas Cooljazz has 4 concerts per night
With doors opening at 7 pm, the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth FM begin at 8 pm in the Marechal Carmona Park Amphitheater then on the Ageas Stage, the first Concert followed by the Great Concert on the same stage. After the big concert on stage Ageas, the Late Nights start in the Anfiteatro of Parque Marechal Carmona.
