The guitarist and composer was for the first time in Portugal, debuted at the Cinema Charlot in Setúbal in an intimate concert.
Bernard Butler is known for being a founding member of Suede, the English rock band formed in London in 1989, known for its extravagant style, dramatic lyrics and distinctive sound, and was an important force in the 90s Britpop movement.
He came to Portugal to present some of his excellent songs, now solo, in an alignment that mixes elements of rock, folk and electronic music, where he showed all his talent.
Bernard Butler worked extensively as a producer and/or songwriter, making records for The Libertines, Tricky, Black Kids, Kate Nash, Nerina Pallot, Teleman, Findlay Brown, Daley, The Cribs, James Morrison, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Rebecca Ferguson, Jonathan Jeremiah, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Texas, Kate Jackson, Mark Eitzel, QTY, Pace, Mull Historical Society, Roxanne De Bastion, Sam Lee, Oscar Lang, Duffy and Paloma Faith.
Not to mention the collaboration with singer David McAlmont, appearances as a guest musician in concerts by James Grant or Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and the album nominated for Mercury in 2022 with actress Jessie Buckley.
Butler’s contributions to the music industry were significant and his influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists. He remains a respected figure in the music world, both as a performer and producer.
