Bernardo Silva among the nominees for footballer 2018/2019 in England
The Portuguese international Bernardo Silva, Manchester City forward, is among the six nominees for the best player award of the 2018/19 season in England, released today by the Association of Professional Footballers.
Bernardo Silva has competition from Argentine Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling, advanced and Manchester City teammates from two Liverpool players, Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk and Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, as well as Belgian forward Eden Hazard Chelsea.
Manchester City, the defending champion and current runner-up in the championship, is the most represented club with three players among them, followed by Liverpool, the Premier League leader, with two points ahead of the citizens, which reflects performance of the two clubs this season.
Bernadette Silva and Sterling, both 24, are also part of the roster for young players at the time, with Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Declan Rice (West Ham), David Brooks (Bournemouth) and Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).
