Best Youth sweep Lisbon off their feet with Everywhen

The Porto band by Ed Rocha Gonçalves and Catarina Salinas, Best Youth, presented their album Everywhen at Maria Matos, where they explore their imagination, based on the concept of “time”.

It was an almost full Maria Matos that welcomed the duo from Porto, a fan audience that intensely experienced the themes of Best Youth, songs composed in English, between indie rock and electronic dream pop.

Ed Rocha Gonçalves and Catarina Salinas, friends for many years, got together when Rocha intended to release a solo album and invited Catarina to sing some of her compositions, the result was so good that they ended up creating Best Youth.

The EP Winterlies 2011 was their first work, including “Hang Out” and was very well received by critics and the public, followed by several concerts and festival participation. With the collaboration of André Tentugal from We Trust, they edited There Must Be a Place. The first album is from 2015, Highway Moon, again well received, followed by Cherry Domino, in 2018, produced by Patrick Wimberly from Chairlift.

Everywhen is Best Youth’s new album composed of 11 songs, which are the basis of the concert, which aims to integrate the public into a musical and visual experience that calls for the suspension of time.

A breathtaking concert left no one indifferent due to the beauty of the themes and Ed and Kate’s interpretation. They will perform in Porto at Casa da Música on January 31st, at 9:30 pm in an already sold-out room, to hear them.
