Billie Eilish, award-winning artist at the Oscars, Golden Globes and Grammys, has just released “What Was I Made For?”, song from the highly anticipated film “Barbie”, written and directed by Greta Gerwig, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the US Barbie and Ken roles, respectively.
“What Was I Made For?” it was written especially for “Barbie” by Billie Eilish along with her brother FINNEAS, who produced the song in their home studio in Los Angeles. The intimate, soulful song exists as a sonic backdrop to crucial scenes throughout the film, while beautifully and touchingly highlighting the film’s important message.
The song was released with an official video, directed by Eilish. In making the song and video, Eilish told her fans, “To be honest with you, this all happened at a time when I really needed it. I am very grateful for that.”
“What Was I Made For?” it will also be released as part of “BARBIE THE ALBUM”, the film’s star-studded soundtrack. The soundtrack was produced by Mark Ronson, Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy award-winning artist and producer, and Greta Gerwig, screenwriter/director/executive producer.
