Bishop points to the sky as the limit of his ambition
“Mais Antigo” is the new theme of the rapper who in March 2025 presents himself in his own name at the Coliseus de Lisboa e Porto.
In May this year, Bispo was – along with Van Zee – the guest of honour at the premiere of the program More Bars, presented by Mizzy Miles in Cidade FM. Now, with 2025 just around the corner, it is back to Cidade FM backdrop of vivid verses sung by the rapper from Algueirão-Mem Martins, who next year will climb the stages of the Lisbon and Porto Coliseus with a new solo album.
“Mais Antigo” is the latest news released by the author of Mais Antigo, a track that refers in the title and lyrics to the misplaced MC from New York Notorious B.I.G. – and that, like the famous song starring Christopher Wallace, points to the sky the limit of excessive ambition. In a freestyle record, Bispo takes over the studios of his radio partner at the Coliseus and fencing rhymes in a raw and hard way, without any great instrumental adornments that obscure what the rapper has to say.
At the scale of Bispo, this ambition has not run into any kind of barriers and over the last few years, the Portuguese singer-songwriter has become one of the great figures of the contemporary national panorama, with multiple unmissable songs in the Portuguese song collaborations with a series of renowned figures in the art industry, and successive digressions from North to South of the country, with mandatory stops by the biggest stages and festivals of our borders.
In this journey, a new big chapter is coming, with a new solo album at the head – which has been anticipated by themes such as “Contra Probabilidades”, “O Teu Cheiro”, or the newly released “Mais Antigo” -, work that will be presented, also, in the two great dates that the beginning of 2025 reserves to Bispo: first in Porto, then in Lisbon, the rapper has scheduled two unrepeatable shows at the Coliseu do Porto AGEAS and at the Coliseu dos Recreios, on 22 and 29 March, respectively.
