‘Black Widow’ will have simultaneous premiere in theaters and Disney+

Disney announced changes in plans for the release of some of its films starting right away with ‘Black Widow’, the next big Marvel film that now has its release date set for July 9th.

[dropcap]’B[/dropcap]lack Widow’ was supposed to have been released in theaters in May 2020, with the premiere having been repeatedly postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to this new postponement for the summer, ‘Black Widow’ can also be seen on the same day on Disney+ by paying an additional fee for service members.

The same will happen with ‘Cruella’ which, despite maintaining the May 28 release date, will premiere simultaneously in theaters and Disney+. As in the Marvel film, service members will have to pay an extra fee if they wish to see ‘Cruella’ in the early days.

This is not the first time that Disney+ members have to pay a fee (in addition to the subscription) to view certain films. ‘Mulan‘ was released in similar situations and the same was seen recently with ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’, in both cases it was a matter of time before it was possible to see these films at no additional cost.
