The new track, inspired by her daily life as a mother, is sure to make everyone laugh… and recognise themselves.
“Oh Mãe, Oh Pai” (Oh Mom, Oh Dad) is a musical portrait of that daily rollercoaster: sleepless nights, fits of rage, missing socks, cold showers, and never-ending meals. All wrapped up in Blaya’s contagious energy, who once again proves that real life also makes for great music.
In the lyrics, Blaya authentically confesses: “she traded nights of dancing for sleepless nights,” “she went from never making lunch to feeding ‘these kids’,” and discovered that there are days when “her head is a mess”… but the smile still appears.
Between verses that make you laugh and others that tug at your heartstrings, Blaya sings that universal truth: being a mother is beautiful, but it’s also a delightful chaos, and nobody warns us how difficult it is.
“This business of being a mother and father is living in constant adaptation with our children. They are growing up, and we as parents are too. One day, when my son had already called me more than 100 times, and my emotions were getting super exhausted, and I just wanted to cry, I started writing about my children’s tantrums. I started the song crying and ended up smiling.”
