The main objective is, during this phase of the pandemic, to facilitate the daily commuting of the Portuguese and to increase the income of drivers by increasing the number of trips, at a time when safety and the price factor are of special importance, the company indicates in a statement.
The new category, which is currently being launched in the pilot phase, allows trips to be made at a 10% lower rate compared to the normal category.
The decision to launch the new low-cost category was taken after Bolt consulted its drivers and after an analysis was carried out that revealed that this category will allow an increase in the number of trips and consequently in the drivers’ income.
The adoption of this new modality is completely optional, being possible for the driver to activate and deactivate it at any time, through a single click on the App.
As a pilot launch, Bolt will continue to continuously monitor the results of this new category with more economical prices to ensure that it does represent an increase in earnings for drivers.
