Borges presents the second illustration, from a collection of four, entitled “Roots of Tomorrow”. The revelation and launch of the new image of Lello Reserva Douro Tinto 2021 was done through an inspiring and engaging video.

This creative and artistic rebranding is a tribute to the greatness of the Lello family in Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges and Douro. A brand that already has 111 years of history!

After the launch of the first illustration “The Beginning of a Great Journey”, which tells the story of Artur Lello’s arrival at Quinta da Soalheira, the second label is now on the market, continuing the tribute to a story that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.

“Entitled ‘Roots of Tomorrow’, it expressively captures the emblematic moment of Carlos Lello’s entry into the Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges, in the 1920s. Created by the artist Kako Neto and under the responsibility of M&A Creative Agency, the work uses a palette of luminous colours that reflect the continuous evolution of the family’s history. The roots intertwine with the vision for tomorrow, providing an artistic interpretation of the rise of Carlos Lello and the sharing of wisdom from his father, Artur Lello, represented in an intimate and engaging atmosphere, the key to four decades of successful management ”, says Ana Montenegro, Marketing Director at Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges.

The label, meticulously designed by Kako Neto, is a precise conception of the essence of the Lello Reserva Red 2021 wine, produced from a careful selection of the best grapes from the unique Douro terroir, subjected to excellent vinification and ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels.

With an intense ruby colour, Lello Reserva Red reveals on the nose the striking presence of very ripe fruits, notes of rockrose and mint, delicately brushed with soft nuances of vanilla. In the mouth, it stands out for its volume and vivacity, displaying delicate tannins and notable elegance. The persistent finish is a perfect symphony, harmonizing freshness and complexity, resulting in a celebration of art that endures in memory and time.

Vinhos Borges aims to demonstrate that each label is a work of art that narrates an episode of the Lello family. A label, a painting, a story, a wine! The next two illustrations will be launched soon with the new vintages of Lello Branco and Lello Rosé!
