boygenius release three new singles, “$20”, “Emily I’m Sorry” and “True Blue”

The trio’s new studio album, “the record”, will be released on March 31.

Following the news that they would be performing at this year’s Coachella music festival, boygenius announced their long-awaited return with the release of three singles taken from their upcoming album: “$20”, “Emily I’m Sorry” and “True Blue “. The album will be released on March 31, 2023 and will be the band’s first full-length project.

As boygenius, the acclaimed trio of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, released their first EP, “boygenius”, in 2018. “$20”, “Emily I’m Sorry” and “True Blue” are the first songs unreleased tracks by the band since 2020, when they released several mockups of the EP’s recording sessions to raise money for charities in their respective hometowns on behalf of the Downtown Women’s Center of Los Angeles, OUTMemphis and Mutual Aid Distribution Richmond.

The highly anticipated album was produced and composed by boygenius and was recorded at Shangri-la Studios in Malibu, California.
