The event brings together renowned chefs, a product fair, art exhibitions, and an intense program of forums and workshops.
Praça do Comércio will gain a Brazilian touch. From September 11-14, Pátio da Galé hosts Brasil Origem Week, a celebration that unites gastronomy, culture, business, and strategic debates between Brazil and Portugal. With free admission and plenty of tastings, the event promises a four-day immersion with showcooking sessions, a product fair, themed forums, and cultural experiences that highlight Brazil’s diversity and potential for innovation.
“Brasil Origem Week is a unique opportunity to showcase the best of Brazil in flavours, culture, entrepreneurship, and international dialogue. We want to build bridges between the two countries and present a contemporary, innovative, and globally connected Brazil,” says Marco Lessa, creator of the event, founder of Casa Brasiliana and the Chocolat Festival.
The culinary program is one of the highlights of Brasil Origem Week, with daily showcooking sessions featuring chefs such as Ricardo Mourão, who presents shrimp and octopus bobó with crispy cassava; Anderson Sousa, with duck with tucupi; Lorrayne Barros, with plantain gnocchi and shrimp moqueca; and Carol Brito, Mônica Morais, Marcos Monteiro, Ivanna Limonge, Emanuel Sávio, Virgínia Soares, Carolina Sales, Cidália França, Márcio Ricci, Natacha Fink, and Larissa Abbud, who will present traditional dishes and creative reinterpretations of Brazilian cuisine. In parallel, the Brasil Origem Products Fair showcases artisanal labels and ingredients, with tastings and business opportunities for importers and gastronomy professionals.
Culturally, the event features the exhibitions “Retratos Sonoros” (Sound Portraits) by photographer Daryan Dornelles and “Olhares da Amazônia” (Views of the Amazon) by Edina Costa, who will perform a live painting during the event, offering the public an interactive artistic experience.
On the debate front, the Tourism Forum, on the 11th, kicks off the program with the theme “Innovation and Sustainability in Destination Promotion,” bringing together Brazilian and Portuguese authorities and experts to discuss the future of the sector. On the 12th, the Lisbon Dialogues offer a strategic look at topics such as bilateral relations, entrepreneurship, migration, sustainable tourism, and the representation of Brazilians in Portugal. This event will be held at the Pestana Pousada Lisboa Auditorium (Praça do Comércio, number 31).
Also on the 12th, the Prepara Portugal Seminar will feature panels on innovation, digital marketing, communication strategies, and the future of work, featuring experts such as Camila Correa, Ana Carolina Braga, Larissa Abreu, Higor Cerqueira, Pedro Stob, and Thiago Vieira, as well as a debate on the challenges of entrepreneurship between Brazil and Europe.
On the 13th, the Internationalisation Workshop, held at ApexBrasil, will feature content on strategic planning, regulation, imports, artificial intelligence, and opportunities for Brazilian companies looking to expand into the European market.
Closing the panel program, the Women’s Forum, also on the 13th, will highlight the role of women in entrepreneurship, leadership, and digital communication, with the participation of names such as Úrsula Corona, Lylian Menezes, Val Vikene, Carol Palombini, Rosângela Rabel, Aline Castelo Branco, and Lua Oller, among other leaders and experts.
With a diverse agenda, Brasil Origem Week reinforces Lisbon as a cultural and business bridge between Brazil and Portugal, celebrating gastronomy, art, and knowledge as drivers of international connection and development.
BOW Lisboa is organised by MVU Portugal. The city governments of Maricá and Ilhéus are partners in the event, as is the government of the state of Bahia.
