Burba Boy confirmed at Sumol Summer Fest

In 2020 Sumol Summer Fest returns to Ericeira Camping for another unforgettable edition on the 3rd and 4th of July, in time to celebrate the beginning of the best summer holidays.

The motto “É que És” is a symbol of an attitude, a state of mind, a life motto of full acceptance of what we are, want and like to be, without major complications. Directly from Nigeria, Burna Boy brings his pronunciation and his African warmth to the Sumol Stage, on July 3 at the Sumol Summer Fest.

Burna Boy is one of the names that is most worth following closely in the current panorama of music designed to make dancing. With his fusion of dancehall, afro-beat and pop, this young Nigerian leaves no one indifferent.

Damini Ogulu was born in Lagos in 1991. It didn’t take long before he started making music, after discovering the FruityLoops software. He was only ten years old. Without ever failing to make his beats, Burna Boy lived in London after graduating but returned to Nigeria shortly after. And it was at that time that he decided to immerse himself in the music of his country, discovering the references of his father and grandfather – that chest included a lot, dancehall and national afro-beat.

Burna Boy is the result of this marriage between the culture of his country and the inevitable American culture. With the production of LeriQ, Burna Boy released “Like To Party”, his first hit.

Shortly after, in 2013, his first album would arrive: “L.I.F.E.”. With the participation of Wizkid, Timaya, 2face and M.I., this first record received the acclaim of the public and of the specialized critic.

In 2015 he released his second album, “On a Spaceship”, also produced by LeriQ, showing all the talent of Burna Boy. After a series of successful singles, such as “GBA2, Streets of Africa”, “Xoni Baje “Or” Sekkle Down “, the young Nigerian composer edited his third album,” Outside “. And 2019 was another great year for Burna Boy.

After editing his fourth album, “African Giant”, he was nominated for a Grammy in the category “Best World Album” and still took home the BET prize in the category “Best International Act ”and an MTV award in the“ Best African Act ”category.

Also in 2019, Burna Boy participated with Ed Sheeran in the theme “Own It” by British rapper Stormzy. It is seen that Burna Boy is one of the artists of the moment and the Portuguese public will be lucky to be able to see him live at the Sumol Summer Fest, on the 3rd of July, at the Sumol Stage.
