Cachorro sem Dono is the new artistic project in partnership between DJ and producer Tiago Norte (Stereosauro) and musician João Cabrita (Cabrita). This collaboration began to be developed at a distance during the confinements imposed by the pandemic situation and results from the experimentation and creativity of both.
Cachorro Sem Dono is based on the fictional characters that Stereossauro (Roy Vides) and Cabrita (Niniko Salvaca) created for themselves and is based on the creation of a narrative, around these characters, in which each theme of the album reveals a part of the story that, in essence, it is a mystery to be unravelled. As if it were a series, each song is an episode with its own narrative that is part of a story that reveals itself in its entirety as an album.
The presentation of this new project is now taking place with the release of the debut single “Chika Pika”, the first invitation that Cabrita and Stereossauro extend to the public to enter this universe of investigation and mystery.
The debut album will be released later this year by Omichord Records in Digital, CD and Vinyl format. This release will be accompanied by presentation concerts that will be announced shortly.
The case of “Chika Pika”:
Roy Vides and Niniko Salvaca are two unlucky private detectives with an unclear past. Two “dogs without an owner” that roam the city streets to the sound of their own beat.
With a reputation for taking on bizarre cases that are almost never investigated by the police, and with methods that are rarely on the right side of the law, they are two soft-hearted hustlers just looking for the next check to pay the bar bill.
Always acting on instinct and improvisation, there’s always something that doesn’t go well, whether it’s a mistake in the location of the target, weapons without bullets, the car that stalls in pursuit…
This time, they both have to solve the mystery of the disappearance of “Chika Pika”, Mrs. Odete’s prized chicken who disappeared without a trace.
With a short attention span, a tendency towards melancholy and an uncanny fixation with birds, the two companions get to work.
