The African Football Confederation (CAF) changed the date of the African Nations Championship (CAN), which will be played between January 9th to February 6th, at the request of the Cameroonian Football Federation, as the organizing country.
The Cape Verdean Football Federation, in a note sent to the press, says that Cameroon justified this postponement “due to meteorological issues”, so the qualifying rounds of the group stage suffer changes.
For the third round, Cape Verde receives its Rwanda counterpart next March, in the same month that it travels to Rwanda for the fourth round.
In the fifth round, he receives Cameroon in June 2020 and ends his participation in the group stage in game of the sixth round, in the Portuguese-speaking derby, against Mozambique, in August 2020.
Cape Verde is in Group F qualifying for the African Nations Championship (CAN), having already played Cameroon (0-0 away from home) and Mozambique (2-2 at home).
Cameroon are automatically qualified as they are the hosts.
