Camané, Lura and Miguel Xavier return to the ‘Summer Garden’ in Gulbenkian

The ‘Summer Garden’ will return to Lisbon at the headquarters of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

In the last two weekends of July, the event will feature DJ, the fado of Camané and Miguel Xavier, performances by the Choir and the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Dom Robertos, circus arts and jazz.

Also staged readings of letters written in the 1940s by Calouste Gulbenkian, the patron and Armenian businessman who chose Portugal to leave his legacy.

The daily program begins with a DJ and ends with a concert in various spaces, such as the ‘Garden of Waves’, the outdoor amphitheatre and the large auditorium of the Gulbenkian.

Miguel Xavier, a young fadista of 23 years, accompanied to the guitar by Miguel Amaral, in a spectacle staged by Ricardo Pais is one of the new Portuguese values.

Camané will perform for the first time, in the large auditorium, accompanied by the Gulbenkian Orchestra.

The Gulbenkian Choir, directed by Jorge Matta, aims to challenge audiences to participate in the concert, such as songs by Cole Porter, and other contemporaries such as Gershwin.

Lura who invites Sara Tavares to a concert of morna, Sahar Mohammadi and Haïg Sarikouyoumdjian, with music from Armenia and Iran, and the Naghash Ensemble, which bring to Lisbon a musical meditation between folk and classical music on the relationship of the Man with God are other of the names present at the festival.

Beginning July 20 with DJ Tiago Santos, at 2:30 p.m., ending at 9:30 p.m. with the fado of Miguel Xavier, and continuing on July 21, at the same time, with DJ Lady G. Brown and ending with the Gulbenkian Choir.

The ‘Summer Garden’ will then continue on July 26 with the Gulbenkian Orchestra and Camané on July 27, with Lura and Sara Tavares, and ends on July 28 with Songs of Exile, a Naghash Ensemble concert.
