Caminhos Cruzados invites you to experience the harvest in Dão
There is a wine producer in the heart of Dão that reinvents the classic concept traditionally associated with the region with notable success.
But the harvest, with all its most typical rituals, continues to be celebrated with caution and with an invitation for wine lovers to leave their mark on this year’s harvest. Therefore, in September, Caminhos Cruzados offers three different programs to take advantage of this high season of the wine year, which combines field work, wine tasting and gastronomy.
Let’s start with the full program. Before leaving for the vineyard, equipped with a hat, scissors and personalized t-shirt, the occasional harvesters are treated to a breakfast. After an hour of harvesting, we offer a tour of the entire winemaking process, before tasting lunch prepared by chef Miguel Vidal, which consists of two starters, a main course and a dessert, all properly harmonized with the producer’s wines, located at Quinta da Teixuga, in Nelas.
Meals can be eaten in the room where Caminhos Cruzados wines are stored, on the balcony, with a sweeping view of the vineyards, in the tasting room or on the external patio, depending on weather conditions and the number of reservations. This is an experience that costs 80 euros per person.
The same program, with lunch being replaced by a wine tasting with three of the company’s references, costs 50 euros per person, while participation in the harvesting, visit and tasting activity costs 35 euros per person.
This offer from the Terras & Terroir Group producer is in effect during September, with the definitive schedule depending on the pace at which the harvest will run, subject to a series of external factors, such as weather conditions.
Reservation of services in writing is required. As well as confirmation of the final number of participants up to 5 days before the event.

About Caminhos Cruzados
Caminhos Cruzados was created by the initiative of the Santos family, born in Nelas, determined to return to their origins to invest in an old passion, Dão wine. The connection with wine was born in the older generations but was passed on to the young Lígia and Francisca, who harvested the wine from an early age with family and friends. The company’s philosophy is based on the production of quality wines, with an aspect of tradition combined with modernism, also highlighting the strong commitment to sustainability. In 2020, Caminhos Cruzados became part of the Terras & Terroir Group, owned by entrepreneurs Paulo Pereira, Maria do Céu Gonçalves and Álvaro Lopes.
