Caminhos do Cinema starts today with 74 hours of programming

The Caminhos do Cinema festival starts today, with a symposium in São João da Madeira, and continues on Saturday in Coimbra, where 74 hours of films will be shown until December 1, at an event focused on national production.

The Cinema Paths begin today with the holding of the “Fusões no Cinema” symposium in São João da Madeira, while on Saturday the main festival competition begins at the Gil Vicente Academic Theater (TAGV) in Coimbra.

In its 24th edition, the festival dedicated to Portuguese cinema will feature 26 feature films, 110 short films, 17 documentaries and 21 animations, in a total of 74 hours, five minutes and 55 seconds of “new paths”, the festival revealed.

The Caminhos Selection will have exhibitions in the TAGV at 3:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. and the Selection Essays (for works produced in an academic context) will be shown at the Alma Shopping cinema, as well as some films from the competitive section which are replaced there. The mini Salgado Zenha auditorium hosts the World Paths and Other Olhares section (section for experimental and experimental films).

Jorge Pelicano’s first feature film, “Until Porno Separates”, the first feature by Leonor Teles, “Terra Franca”, “O Canto do Ossobó” by Silas Tiny, the police officer “Cabaret Maxime” by Bruno de Almeida, or João Botelho’s adaptation of Fernão Mendes Pinto’s book “Pilgrimage” are some of the Path’s proposals for the main section.

The festival ends on December 1, with the awards ceremony in the different categories and competitive sections.

The single ticket costs between three and four euros, the ticket for ten sessions between 15 and 20 euros and the pass free of transit between 25 to 30 euros.
