Sporting went to Dragão Arena to win by 76-80 and postponed the decision for the last game to be played next Wednesday at Pavilhão João Rocha.
After winning 2 games, FC Porto took the lead in the Playoff game, played in the Dragão Arena today and in case of victory, they would be champions.
Sporting entered for this reason aware that they would have to win in the opponent’s stronghold to keep their hopes of victory in the championship and take the decision to Pavilhão João Rocha.
Porto started better, but Luís Magalhães’ team managed to turn the game around in the second quarter, with Sporting maintaining the lead in the result until the last quarter.
Porto then went ahead in the match with the loss of breath of the Lisbon team, then Sporting still managed to respond in time and three minutes from the end they managed to take the lead of the game that they maintained until the end.
The decisive game of the playoff final will be played at Pavilhão João Rocha on Wednesday, both teams have not won the competition for some time, for Porto, the last title was in 2015/16, for Sporting it was in 1981 / 82, although the Lisbon team gave up for the modality and returned in the 2019/20 season.
