Sagres Campo Pequeno hosted Fontaines D.C. with a sold-out house

“Romance European Tour 2024” started yesterday at Lisbon

Fontaines D.C. returned to Portugal after having performed a little over 2 months ago at Vodafone Paredes de Coura, for a sold-out concert and fantastic energy in the “air”, since it was the first concert of the “Romance European Tour 2024,” which will take them all over Europe.

Received by a full room that applauded and cheered them from beginning to end, the band opened the concert with “Romance” from their latest album Romance, released also in August and which dominated the concert, but songs from their previous works Skinty Fia, A Hero’s Death, and Dogrel also made an appearance at the concert in Lisbon.

Wunderhorse opens the concert of Fontaines D.C. in Lisbon

The English band Wunderhorse, formed in 2020 by vocalist and songwriter Jacob Slater, opened the concert at Sagres Campo Pequeno, initially a solo project, evolved into a band in 2021, with Harry Tristan Fowler on guitar, Peter Woodin on bass, and Jamie Staples on drums joining Slater.

Wunderhorse has been gaining followers all over the place, with its music that blends elements of indie rock, grunge, and alternative rock, providing a breath of fresh air on stage, and filling it with energy and intensity.

Their debut album, Cub, released in 2022, was very well received by critics and fans and showcased Slater’s songwriting talent and the band’s ability to create powerful rock songs.

In 2024, Wunderhorse released their second album, Midas, produced by Craig Silvey, a renowned producer who has worked with artists such as The Rolling Stones and Arcade Fire. The sound of this work is more mature and refined, yet it still retains the raw energy and unmistakable style of the band.

In Lisbon, they presented songs from their 2 albums, Midas and Cub, and “set the room on fire” for Fontaines D.C., two great concerts under the signature Everything is New, a night that fans won’t forget.
