After starting in November 2020, the competition, last won by Oliveirense in 2018/19, was now in the last 32, still with the leader of the championship Óque de Barcelos, FC Porto, Benfica, and Sporting.

There were still three qualifiers to play until the ‘final four’, which had already been rescheduled for April 24 and 25, now having no effect in view of the priority given to the conclusion of the various championships.

The FPP announced the unanimous decision of the board to cancel the 2020/21 edition of the Portuguese Cup, on the proposal of the roller hockey technical committee.

Among the reasons mentioned are the successive changes and postponement of dates of the various national competitions and championships, the presence of 19 teams from the secondary levels, 15 from the second division and four from the third, who are unable to train and are not expected to resume this phase. , due to the confinement decreed in January, requiring at least two weeks of training before returning to competition.
